Giving a guest lecture this week at summer school, I suggested that the search for customer motivation might begin here.

2. Everyone hates to lose

3. Everyone wants to feel special

4. Everyone hates to miss out

5. Everyone wants to be told the truth

6. Everyone hates being disappointed

7. Everyone loves to laugh

8. Everyone wants to be accepted, particularly by those they care about

9. Everyone wants to be an individual

10. Everyone dislikes something

11. Everyone has secrets

12. Everyone wants to live

13. Everyone’s been hurt

14. Everyone has a sense of justice

15. Everyone remembers

16. Everyone loves a story

17. Everyone wants to feel they were the first to know

18. Everyone loves to share

19. Everyone needs a place they call home

20. Everyone wants to be loyal to something

21. Everyone has things they don’t believe in

22. Everyone wants to be happy

In other words, to solve the problem, first find the humanity in the issue.
